RE100 Electric Power Supports Kambe Energy Co., Ltd.’s Grid-Scale Battery Storage (2 MW / 4 MWh) Operations

RE100 Electric Power Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Yudai Konishi; hereinafter “RE100 Electric Power”) announces the commencement of aggregation operations for the grid-scale battery storage system (capacity: 2 MW / 4 MWh) newly launched by Kambe Energy Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Kobe City, Hyogo Prefecture; Representative Director: Kambe Siddhartha Vishay; hereinafter “Kambe Energy”).
In this project, Kambe Energy owns and operates the battery storage system, while RE100 Electric Power serves as the aggregator, optimizing supply-demand balance and maximizing electricity value through trading in the supply-demand adjustment market, the JEPX market, and the capacity market. As the expansion of renewable energy adoption increases the importance of grid stabilization and securing balancing capacity, this initiative contributes to the advancement of power infrastructure by providing flexible supply-demand adjustment capabilities.
Additionally, a 24/7/365 monitoring system has been established to ensure stable operations and rapid response.
RE100 Electric Power will continue to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy adoption and the realization of a sustainable society through the operation of this battery storage equipment. Both companies will also work to leverage their technical capabilities and expertise to the fullest to create new business models and innovations.
