RE100 Electric Power Announces Conclusion of Grid-Scale Battery Storage Installation Contract with TUN POWER Co., Ltd.

RE100 Electric Power Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Katsuhiro Konishi; hereinafter “RE100 Electric Power”) announces the conclusion of a grid-scale battery storage installation contract with TUN POWER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taoyuan City, Taiwan; Representative Director: Lin Mei-Ling; hereinafter “TUN POWER”), an affiliate of TUN GREEN POWER Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Taoyuan City, Taiwan; Representative Director: Lin Mei-Ling).

Partnership Overview

The grid-scale battery storage facility planned by TUN POWER in Wakayama City, Wakayama Prefecture, targets grid connection by May 2026. RE100 Electric Power will conduct aggregation across the supply-demand adjustment market, the JEPX market, and the capacity market to maximize revenue. Additionally, group company Japan Energy Total System Co., Ltd. will be responsible for development, construction, and maintenance management. The battery storage facility to be newly established through this partnership will contribute to the stabilization of domestic energy supply and the promotion and expansion of renewable energy.

TUN POWER specializes in wire and cable technology in Taiwan and has been involved in the construction of Taiwan’s power infrastructure for over 70 years. The company has also been actively promoting renewable energy-related businesses through the construction of AFC (Automatic Frequency Control) battery storage systems. With this contract with RE100 Electric Power, TUN POWER plans to further expand renewable energy adoption and develop grid-scale battery storage businesses across Japan.

RE100 Electric Power will continue to contribute to the expansion of renewable energy adoption and the realization of a sustainable society through the operation of this battery storage equipment.
